After
spending the winter months studying about Antarctica, the
Arctic, penguins, polar bears, light, magnets, winter,
shadows and geography, it is time to show what the classes
have learned. The six groups get ready by practicing their
parts for the production.
The scenery in the
classroom took on a decidely wintery theme. Backdrops were
created in art class.
Students even created an
igloo out of boxes.
With all the preparation,
it was time for the show to begin. A video of facts was
viewed by all visitors.
The authors and poets made
copies of their stories and poems that they read and
autographed.
The musicians have created a
two songs which they sing for the visitors.
The Brrrr Research Center
is set up in the classroom and invites visitors to stop by
and learn something new.
The technology crew
guides visitors through a slide show and a rhyming
activity.
Several students even
created sock puppets for a puppet play. The play was
videotaped and played on the day of the production.
Students and adults try
their hand at working with magnets. Did you know that the
earth is a big magnet with two poles (North and
South)?
The souvenire shop is
open to all guests. The workers even give the visitors money
to spend at the shop.
A good time was had by
the visitors and participants. We are looking forward to the
spring production of Kings Pride Producers.
