Mental Health Screening

On October 21st and 23rd we will conduct an annual depression awareness program and screening for our 7th grade students. Students will attend one session on one of the designated days based through their PE class. Periods 1-4 will attend the 21st and periods 5-8 will attend the 23rd. The goals of this program are to educate students on the signs and symptoms of depression, to let students know what to do if they have concerns about themselves or a peer, and to connect students who may need support with resources inside and outside the school. Please view the letter detailing more specific information on the curriculum and the opt-out form (page 2 of the letter), should you wish to opt your child out of this lesson.

Gallup Poll

During the week of October 26, our 7th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in the Gallup Poll. Students will take the poll during their LS time. The survey focuses on measuring hope, engagement, entrepreneurial aspirations, and career/financial literacy. Gallup's research has shown that hope, engagement, entrepreneurial aspirations, and career/financial literacy are key factors that drive student grades, achievement scores, retention, and future employment. Please view the parent letter detailing more specific information on the Gallup Poll and the opt-out form, should you wish to opt your child out of this experience.
