WELCOME TO THE WOLFTRAP LIBRARY MEDIA CENTER
Ms. Karen DeHoratiis, Librarian
Library Mission Statement
| Mission of the Wolftrap Library Media Center The mission of the Wolftrap Library is to provide resources and services that support the school curriculum and areas of focus, to teach the students to become independent library users and researchers, and to encourage the students to become life-long readers. Library resources include a collection of approximately 15,000 books and audiovisual programs, ten computer workstations that are connected to the Internet and the online library catalog and a variety of multimedia equipment, including a television studio from which a student-produced news show and afternoon dismissal information can be broadcasted school-wide. Every class is scheduled to visit the library weekly and receives a lesson on a topic related to classroom instruction. Students may listen to stories or poetry, do research, complete worksheets using reference resources, discuss topics or evaluate information in a variety of ways. Students are also given ample time to locate and check-out library books. |
