Keep in Touch

The FCPS Keep in Touch (KIT) system now offers users the opportunity to receive specific topics, community outreach messages, and information about specific schools via a subscription service.
If you are currently receiving KIT messages because your child is enrolled in FCPS or you are an FCPS employee, please follow the links below for Parents and Families or Employees for information about the new subscription service. If you are not a parent or FCPS employee but want to receive KIT messages from the school system, follow the community path.

Parents and Families Community Employees

The new subscription service makes it possible for you to receive information about specific topics.  These messages will be in addition to the announcements you already receive based on your child's contact information in the student information system (SASI) database.

Community members can subscribe to receive specific information from Fairfax County Public Schools.

Students-- this is also for you.

 

The new subscription service makes it possible for you to receive information about specific topics.  These messages will be in addition to the announcements that you currently receive based on your employee information in UConnect (the Lawson database).

Families and Parents are currently receiving messages based on contact information in the student information system (SASI) database.

Community Members and Students are not in the Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) student database or the FCPS employee database and can include students, other family members, friends, or citizens who are not receiving messages but would like to do so.

Employees can update their contact information in UConnect.

If you currently use an anti-Spam program or service and would like ensure that you receive messages from FCPS, add Keep in Touch to your "safe" or permitted e-mail sender list. Instructions.

Parent/Families

Here's how...
If you have a Parent View account in FCPS 24-7 Learning, click on weCare@School and update your contact information OR go to your child’s school and ask to fill out an emergency care information form.

If you don't have a Parent View account... get one by visiting How to Access FCPS 24-7 (PDF document)
For additional assistance with Parent View, call 1-866-434-8880. You may need to go to your child’s school to verify your identification (you must bring your child's student ID number with you).

Yes, you will still receive these messages.  Unsubscribing through the subscription portal will not change the messages you currently receive.

If you subscribe, you will be able to receive messages about specific topics that interest you. These topics include School Board updates, news releases, current issues, and opportunities to volunteer.

You may also want to subscribe to receive messages from the schools in your neighborhood or to be notified about sports events, visual and performing arts shows, or general announcements.

You may update your information or unsubscribe at any time.

Employees

Log in to UConnect at http://www.fcps.edu/DHR/employees/uconnect.htm and follow the instructions. Once logged in, click on the Employee tab at the top of the page. On the next page, select My Address to update your home address and phone number.  Select My Work Contact Info to update your work phone number. 

If you subscribe, you will be able to receive messages about specific topics that interest you. These topics include School Board updates, news releases, current issues, and opportunities to volunteer.

Community

If you do not currently have contact information in either the FCPS student database or the FCPS employee database, but would like to receive Keep in Touch messages, you can subscribe using the new subscription service.

You may choose to receive announcements such as delayed school openings, School Board updates, and messages sent from schools that interest you. If you have friends or grandchildren and want to keep up with the school news, if you’re interested in your neighborhood school’s activities and events, you can subscribe to receive this information.
