Academic and Career Plan

Required

Each year, in grades 7 and 8, students will complete the following required tasks:

  • Develop a SMART goal and continuously reflect on progress.
  • Learn about the importance of authentic experiences.
  • By the end of middle school, all students will complete the Career Investigations course tasks.

Grade 7

In addition to the list above, each 7th grade student will complete a self-assessment on student strengths (Naviance StrengthsExplorer).

Grade 8

In addition to the list above, each 8th grade student will

  • Complete self-assessment on careers (Naviance Career Cluster Finder).
  • Create a Course Plan for high school.

Recommended

These activities are recommended for students in grades 7 and 8:

  • Participate in service learning hours, document the hours, and capture reflections.
  • Explore strengths, interests, and values through self-assessment and reflection.
