Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the U.S. and Canada. FCPS was recognized for its financial reporting work for the fiscal year ending in June 2023. FCPS has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 30 consecutive years.

The award, the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, is conferred to organizations that demonstrate a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate their financial stories. GFOA is a nonprofit professional association that serves approximately 19,000 government finance professionals.
