Multilingual Learners Summit 2024

Fostering an environment of empowerment where multilingual students and their families can establish meaningful connections, engage in active listening, and openly share their experiences, cultivating mutual support and a deeper understanding of educational pathways within FCPS.

Join us for an inspiring evening for middle and high school multilingual learners and families featuring guest speaker Dr. Jose Luis Zelaya who will share his incredible story including his childhood in Honduras, and his journey to the United States, highlighting his achievements and becoming the first in his family to graduate from high school, attend college, and earn a doctorate degree. 

Thursday, August 8, 5-8:30 p.m., at Annandale High School. 

Event will also feature a table fair promoting college and career readiness. 

Language interpretation services will be available. Registration is not required but does help us plan

Student Service Learning Opportunity!
All participating middle and high school students may earn service learning hours by:

  • Attending the summit
  • Reflecting through an exit ticket at the event
