Equitable Access to Literacy is FCPS' PreK-12 literacy program. It uses proven methods based on scientific reading research. Its goal is to expand learning opportunities to meet the needs of all students.

Honors classes in middle school are open to all students who seek academic rigor. Fairfax County offers open enrollment in Honors social studies, English, science, and mathematics classes.
Bilingual community liaisons support families during the student registration process. They also help determine if parents have needs beyond registering their child for school.
The FCPS World Languages Credit By Exam assesses language proficiency. The exam provides up to three World Language credits. Exam credits may also fulfill the World Languages requirements for the Advanced Studies Diploma and the Virginia Department of Education’s Seal of Biliteracy.

2e learners have the ability to think, reason, and problem-solve at advanced levels, and they also have special learning needs. FCPS provides accommodations to ensure the success for 2e students--a unique group of learners.
