Megan Vroman
Megan Vroman was appointed the assistant superintendent for Region 2 in December 2023, after serving as the interim assistant superintendent for several months and, before that, as an executive principal for Region 2. She was previously a principal in the District of Columbia Public Schools.
Vroman started her career in education as a Middle School Special Education teacher in Phoenix, AZ. In 2015, she joined the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) as a principal at West Education Campus and then became the founding principal of Ida B. Wells Middle School.
Vroman’s commitment to student achievement has been evident throughout her career. Her core belief that every student should have access to a rigorous and relevant curriculum has had an impact on the education of students in FCPS. During her time serving as a principal, Vroman cultivated professional learning communities and prioritized the growth and development of her staff and students. This systematic approach to planning, teaching, and enrichment led her schools to high levels of academic achievement and student satisfaction. She leads with a focus on expanding the capacity of others, with a deep belief in the potential of every student, staff member, and leader.
Vroman holds a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in Spanish from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in special education from Arizona State University. In 2017 she received an executive master’s degree in leadership from the McDonough Business School, Georgetown University.
