You can find your step in UConnect. In the top left corner, select the Bookmarks drop-down and choose - Employee Self Service – Multiple Jobs/Assignments- Pay Step.

Find more detailed information (Google Slide Deck – log in with your @fcpsschools.net account - which is the same ID and password that you use to log in to the FCPS network) or sign up for a virtual appointment.

How do I use the conversion chart to find my placement on the Current Pay Plan?
- Find your job title listed on the chart. Next, under current step find your step number and slide across to find your new step and new pay rate.
Why doesn’t my number of years of experience equate to my step?
- That is a common misconception, the actual step number does not match the years of experience. A step simply represents evenly spaced increments of payrates within a paygrade. Step placement is influenced by several factors, such as this year’s redesigned scale scenario, or a challenging budget year in which a step increase is not possible due to financial constraints.
What are the differences between the Old Plan and the Current Pay Plan?
- The old plan has lower hourly rates with more paid nonworking days for more consistent paychecks throughout the year.
- The current pay plan pays a higher hourly rate with fewer paid nonworking days. Furthermore, if you work additional hours or overtime you will have a greater earning potential on the current pay plan.
