At Fairfax County Public Schools, students in middle school and high school receive an engaging education in a variety of key subjects. 

Middle school students, in grades 7-8, receive instruction in the following subjects:

• English
• Family Life Education (FLE)
• Health and Physical Education
• Mathematics, including PreAlgebra, Algebra, and Geometry
• Science and Physical Science
• Social Studies, including US History 1865-Present, and Civics and Economics

High school students, in grades 9-12, receive instruction in the following subjects:

• Economics and Personal Finance (EPF)
• English
• Family Life Education (FLE)
• Health and Physical Education
• Mathematics, including Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra, Functions, and Data Analysis (AFDA)
• Science, including Biology, Chemistry, Geosystems, Physics, and Environmental Science
• Social Studies, including World History and Geography, and Virginia and US History

Students in middle school and high school can also take classes in a variety of World Languages, including American Sign Language (ASL), Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
