Messages of Hope and Gratitude for FCPS Employees
The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors recently declared February 8, We Love FCPS Day. That same day, our friends at Volunteer Fairfax showed their love by delivering over 7,000 personal valentine cards to FCPS staff members in more than 40 schools as a part of their annual Valentines Challenge.
At Brookfield Elementary School in Chantilly, the valentines were received by principal Ellen Mukai and staff members. Students engaged as part of their Service Learning program and volunteers from GrandInvolve, one of our valuable Ignite Partners, were among the group of community members supporting the effort.
“We appreciate Volunteer Fairfax’s recognition of FCPS’ many dedicated teachers and other school-based staff at Brookfield and our Title 1 schools,” said Principal Mukai. She added, “We also want to thank the numerous students and community members who took time to create thoughtful valentines with messages of hope and gratitude for our employees.”
It’s never too late to show your appreciation. The FCPS CARES Program is an opportunity for parents, staff, and community members to recognize FCPS employees for going above and beyond to help others and show they care. We invite you to submit your story, so we can all acknowledge the good work of FCPS employees.
