Fairfax County School Board Approves Secondary Course Changes for 2025-26
The Fairfax County School Board approved new secondary course offerings for the 2025-26 school year at its meeting on November 14. They are:
- Ballet (High School)
- Ceramics 3 (High School)
- Ceramics 4 Honors (High School)
- Earth Science (High School)
- Geospatial Analysis II (High School)
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Environmental Systems and Societies (High School)
- Music Exploration (Middle School)
- Music in Media and Culture (High School)
- Spanish for Heritage Speakers 4 Honors (High School)
All courses above, with the exception of Earth Science, have been approved as optional courses, and schools will make the decision to add courses based on student interest. Earth Science will be a standard course offered at all schools.
In addition, the School Board approved the following course changes:

Course Designation Changes - Add an Additional 0.5 Weight to GPA

- Cyber: Net Admin 1 (High School)
- Digital Art 4 (High School)

- Pre-Professional Musical Theatre (High School)
- Studio Art & Design 4 (High School)
- Teachers for Tomorrow 1 Honors (High School)
