Holiday travel and gatherings, along with the more contagious Omicron variant, make testing even more important. FCPS will open its Gatehouse Administration Center drive-through diagnostic testing site early to help students and staff access testing before returning to school or work January 3.

Pre-registration for optional COVID-19 screening testing for students begins this week. Parents and guardians may pre-register their child(ren)and provide consent using the LTS secure online portal. If you do not want your child to participate in COVID-19 screening testing, no action is required. You will have the option each week to update your child’s vaccination status and consent for testing.

The Office of the Ombudsman provides an independent, confidential resource for students, families, community members, and employees who are seeking informal help to answer questions, resolve concerns, and voice complaints regarding FCPS matters. Contact them here.

Starting on October 13, the Student-Parent Survey for Federal Impact Aid  will be distributed to all FCPS families. For each school-aged child in your household, please complete, sign, date, and return the survey to your child’s school by November 5.

The 8th Annual FCPS Mental Health and Wellness Conference and Inova Act on Addiction presents Strategies for Today and Beyond. The conference will be virtual this year September 27-October 1, 2021. The conference will feature keynote speakers who will focus on social emotional learning and resiliency. FCPS is proud to partner with the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board, Inova, Innovation Health, and Kaiser Permanente.

Documentation of immunization is required for students entering kindergarten, 7th grade, 12th grade, and for new students transferring into FCPS. Now is the time to schedule a free appointment through the Fairfax County Health Department for your child's immunizations.
