Grab and Go locations and bus routes will serve two days of breakfast and lunch.
Meal Kit sites that normally distribute on Wednesdays will distribute on Tuesday, December 15.
FCPS is seeking individuals to serve as classroom monitors. Classroom monitors provide in-person classroom assistance for students when a staff member remains virtual. Candidates who are interested in a position or would like more information can review the job description and qualifications and apply online.
Parents/guardians who chose in-school instruction for their child will receive a health screening commitment form where you will agree to completing a daily health screening prior to sending your student to school. Forms must be received at school electronically or by hard copy before your child returns to in-school instruction. Students whose parent/guardian have not returned a signed form will be required to complete a health screening and have their temperature taken daily by school staff until the form is received.
Grab and Go meal sites are open 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (excluding holidays). Meal Kits sites distribute each Monday from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m., or until supplies are exhausted. Buses distributing meals are operating Monday through Friday. Meals will be available at no-cost Monday-Friday at all schools with in-person instruction. Specific information about meal distribution locations and bus distribution schedules are available.
Due to the bus driver shortage, we will be increasing “double back” bus runs, meaning a bus is required to run two scheduled routes back to back that would normally have been covered by two separate buses. These “double backs” may impact delivery time to schools or bus stops and may have a domino effect, affecting after-school drop-off times.
The Parent Technology Help Desk will continue to support parents and students. The number is 1-833-921-3277 (833-921-FCPS). It will be answered by staff from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
For the coming year, parents and caregivers have two learning options for their students. Compare the two options and complete this enrollment form by July 15, 2020.
We encourage families to share their feedback about the return to school and distance learning. All families should have received an email from Fairfax County Public Schools on Saturday morning. This survey includes information about your comfort with the options for the fall return to school and your thoughts about distance learning. If you did not receive an email from FCPS, you can fill out the survey at this link: https://www.fcps.edu/survey
