Fairfax County Public Schools Student Ambassador Programs are school-based student leadership programs that bring together military and civilian peers to support all students' transition to school, helping create an accepting school culture and welcoming environment. In addition to programs that support all new students, students at several schools have initiated Military Ambassadors Clubs to support their school’s military-connected students, families, and active duty members and veterans of the Armed Forces.

The West Springfield High School Military Ambassadors Club (WSHS MAC) engages in outreach to new military-connected students. They also focus on awareness and education about the military lifestyle for their entire community. The Lake Braddock Military Ambassadors Club also strives to support their school’s military-connected students and families. Dedicated Ambassadors are paired up with new students to support their transition to Lake Braddock Secondary School. Ambassadors provide support, tours, information, and frequently check in with new students to ensure they are adjusting well. Mount Vernon High School’s Purple Team is made up of military-connected Student Ambassadors who bring together students to provide an introduction of Mount Vernon High School to prospective students and families, and make all new students feel welcome.

Service is a focus for all Student Ambassador Programs. Military Ambassadors Club members have participated in Honor Flight, Wreaths Across America, donation drives, and various other activities to support military-connected students, families and veterans, as well as their communities. As April, the Month of the Military Child, comes to an end, we would like to acknowledge students who are members of military-connected Military Ambassador programs, clubs and organizations. Thank you for your service!
