This includes oral interpretation for various events, such as parent conferences and testing sessions, and more. Our services include the use of the Language Interpretation System (LIS) for near-simultaneous interpretations at FCPS events. We also provide written translations of essential documents into Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Office of the Ombuds

The Office of the Ombuds serves as an independent, confidential resource for students, families, community members, and employees who are seeking informal help to answer questions, resolve concerns, and voice complaints regarding FCPS matters.

Student Registration

The Office of Student Registration provides information and services to families and caregivers who are seeking to enroll their school-age children in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). Multilingual registrars are available at centrally located Student Registration Welcome Centers to assist multilingual families with the registration process.

Student Transfer

A student registered in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is expected to attend the school assigned to the student’s home address as identified by the FCPS Boundary Locator. However, an enrolling parent may request a student transfer for their child in grades kindergarten through 12 to attend a non-base school through the student transfer application process. Student transfers will be considered if the school capacity, grade-level capacity, and the school curricular program at the requested school will permit, as determined by FCPS.
