North TIER Courses
North TIER Courses Listing and Registration Information
Fairfax County Public Schools is in a unique non-profit partnership with 13 neighboring school districts, Germanna Community College, and EdTech Leaders Online (ETLO) called the North TIER Partnership. Its mission is to provide professional development directly related to the use of technology to make an impact on learning.
These courses, which are project and standards based, include seven online sessions. An instructor trained and certified by EdTech Leaders Online facilitates each course, using a learning model that combines readings and videos, activities, and facilitated peer-to-peer collaborative discussions. The focal point of the sessions is online discussion and collaboration, where you can share your ideas, reflections, comments, and questions with your classmates.
North TIER is working with Colorado State University to provide a graduate credit option for all courses! This optional track requires the participant to write a graduate level reflection paper. You will be able to register for the graduate credit option during the first week of class.
Earn 2 Graduate Credits from Colorado State University Online for an additional $160. Participants are eligible for either recertification or graduate credit but not both.
Note: North TIER requests that participants share their knowledge and participate in surveys. All sessions take place online. All projects are due on or before the final date of the course. For more information contact Aron Sterling.
