Family and School Partnerships Offering Immigrant Family Reunification Facilitator Training

The Family and School Partnerships Office is offering a MyPDE course to become a facilitator for the Immigrant Families Reunite Program. Within this training, participants delve into the perspective of immigrant families that are going through the reunification process and learn how to teach a three-day course to immigrant families. Those that are interested in becoming a facilitator must speak English and Spanish.
The MyPDE course will be held virtually on February 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Register for the training.

Instructional Resources: Planning for Black History Month Google Site

In February, people all over the United States celebrate Black History Month—because Black history is American history. Students deserve meaningful, sustained opportunities to learn about the experiences and contributions of Black and African American people year-round, and Black History Month is one opportunity to honor these diverse and important stories. FCPS Social Studies, in collaboration with a group of teachers and specialists across subject areas, have developed the Planning for Black History Month Google site. Teachers and school leaders will find ideas for classroom learning experiences across content areas and grade levels.
