September 12, 2024 School Board Meeting Highlights
Meeting Opening
At 7:18 p.m., the National Anthem was performed by the Annandale Singers under the direction of Pat Vaughn.
The School Board approved a proclamation honoring the 75th anniversary of Mount Eagle Elementary School.
Community Participation
The School Board heard from 6members of the public during Community Participation.
Student Representative Matters
Student Representative Megan Sawant presented Student Representative Matters to the School Board.
Action Items
The School Board voted to approve a contract for Consulting Services for the Boundary Review.
Executive Limitation Performance and Policy Review
Superintendent Reid presented a monitoring report on Executive Limitation-1: Global Executive Limitations. The School Board found the Superintendent in compliance with EL-1. In a related action, the School Board voted to maintain Executive Limitation 1: Global Executive Limitations, as it is currently detailed in the Strategic Governance Manual. In a further action, the School Board voted to amend the definition of "Executive Limitations in the Board's Strategic Governance Manual.

Dr. Reid presented Academic Matters on the State Accreditation and Accountability Changes.
Dr. Reid presented Superintendent Matters to the School Board.
Dr. Reid presented a Strategic Plan Update on Pillar C: Diverse, Adaptive, & Supported Workforce.
Consent Agenda
The School Board also approved minutes of the July 11, 2024 meeting, additional Advisory Committee appointments, the Fairfax County Purchasing Resolution, and awarded a contract for the Stadium Bathrooms Installation Project.
Meeting Closing
Public Engagement Committee Chair Ms. St. John-Cunning and Governance Committee Chair Ms. Lady gave Committee Reports.
