FCPS Receives $1.5 Million Grant from DoDEA to Support STEAM Education at Fort Belvoir Primary and Upper Schools
Fairfax County Public Schools has been awarded a $1.5 million grant from the Department of Defense Education Activity through the Military-Connected Local Educational Agencies for Academic and Support Programs.
Honoring Our Veteran Employees

22 FCPS Schools Earn the NWF Green Flag Award
Twenty-two schools across Fairfax County Public Schools are celebrating being honored with a Green Flag award from the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) through the EcoSchools U.S. program. Only 56 Green Flags were awarded nationwide.
Boundary Review Community Meetings

Woodson Community Celebrates New Namesake, Reflects on History at Carter G. Woodson Dedication Ceremony
The FCPS school board voted last year to rename Woodson High School for Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who is widely considered the “Father of Black History.” Dr. Carter G. Woodson, a journalist and an educator, later became Dean of Howard University’s College of Arts and Sciences.
