22 FCPS Schools Earn the NWF Green Flag Award
Twenty-two schools across Fairfax County Public Schools are celebrating being honored with a Green Flag award from the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) through the EcoSchools U.S. program. Only 56 Green Flags were awarded nationwide.

Student Writers Receive 2022 Regional Scholastic Writing Awards
Fairfax County Public Schools student writers won 50 Gold Key awards in the 2022 Regional Scholastic Writing Awards competition. In all, 226 Gold Key, Silver Key, and Honorable Mentions were earned by FCPS students.
FCPS Schools Providing Meals to All Students Through CEP
Fairfax County Public Schools announced schools providing free or reduced-price meals for children served under the National School Lunch and/or School Breakfast programs.
2024 Regional Scholastic Art Awards Recognize Creative Work of FCPS Students
The 2024 Regional Scholastic Art Awards program has awarded Fairfax County Public Schools students in grades 7-12 a total of 714 awards for outstanding artwork, including 176 Gold Key awards, 172 Silver Key awards, and 366 Honorable Mention awards.

The U.S. Supreme Court let stand an appeals court decision upholding the admissions policy for the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST), ending a three-year legal challenge by a group that claimed the policy was unfair.
