Description: Plans and implements a SOAR summer program for students in grades K-6; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve curriculum goals; manages student behavior; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; provides differentiation and accommodations for students of varied skill levels; collaborates with other summer program teachers to plan and facilitate Project-based Learning and student reflection through Portrait of Graduate Presentations of Learning; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy; attends mandatory in-person and/or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.

Qualifications: Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Endorsement in elementary education, with experience in teaching elementary school curriculum, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.

Description: Performs a variety of paraprofessional curricular, instructional, clerical, and support tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in the SOAR summer program classrooms for students in grades K-6; assists with the daily management of the students; prepares a variety of instructional materials and reports, as requested; works with individuals or small groups of students; performs related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications: Graduation from high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) with one (1) year of experience working with children as a volunteer or paid employee, or equivalent participation in any teacher education introductory course with the provision of documented support. Advanced degree beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience. Knowledge and understanding of child growth and development; knowledge of instructional procedures and practices applicable to assignment; knowledge of subject matter reinforcement practices of the classes to which assigned; ability to work effectively with students and staff; ability to assist with the implementation of an instructional program and related technology, and to participate in monitoring and ensuring appropriate student behavior; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Description:  Supports a Summer Learning program; works with elementary school students that require support for a range of disabilities and are working on curriculum taught in the previous year; supports instruction, classroom, and behavior management; implements individual student reinforcement systems; assists with routine care, including personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting; performs certain medical procedures or gives medication under the supervision and with appropriate training; aids medically fragile students and those physically impaired, which may involve transferring to and from wheelchairs to floor, table, or therapy devices.

Qualifications:  Graduation from high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), with completion of the Best Practices for Teaching Students with Autism Modules 1-8 or ABA Fundamentals, required.  Two (2) years of college education with some experience working with students, preferred.  Knowledge of health, safety, and first-aid methods; ability to provide appropriate care to students with disabilities; ability to maintain confidentiality; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.

Qualifications: Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education and an endorsement in Special Education. Experience in teaching Special Education students, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.

Description: Facilitates student learning experiences, including Project-Based Learning; collaborates with teachers on instruction and curates resources that support the curriculum; connects students with books they want and need while promoting literacy and the joy of reading; designs for equitable access to the library and library resources; circulates print and digital materials and manages the library collection; attends mandatory in-person and/or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.

Qualifications: Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education and an endorsement in Library Media PreK-12, with experience with Destiny Discover and MackinVIA library platform and in designing and facilitating instruction. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and varied skill levels in a collaborative learning environment.

Description: Performs a variety of general office duties required to support the activities of a school to include responding to requests for information, maintaining and updating records and preparing documents; provides assistance in coordinating classroom coverage and/or substitute services as directed; receives, examines, and distributes supplies; provides general assistance to administrators and teachers; attends mandatory in-person and/or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.   

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED), with some experience in general office administration and/or customer experience. SIS and Red Rover experience, preferred. Knowledge of basic business office practices and procedures; proficiency in the use of technology and ability to learn associated software applications; ability to maintain confidentiality; ability to provide positive customer service and to develop and maintain effective working relationships with culturally diverse students, families, school staff, and community members; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
