School Board Committees and Liaisons
School Board Standing Committees focus on specific areas of governance, management, and policy within the school division. These committees are designed to ensure that critical aspects of the school system receive focused attention and oversight. Standing Committees support the Board's work by preparing recommendations, alternatives, or implications for consideration by the full School Board.
School Board Advisory Committees support the Board's work through providing community input on specific issues. Community Advisory Committee appointments reflect the religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity of Fairfax County and each magisterial districts. The advisory committees meet throughout the year and submit an annual report to the Board.
School Board Members represent the School Board and school division by serving as liaisons to various regional agencies, committees and organizations.
