🎭 It’s a Hard Knock Life at Falls Church High School


The Cappies is a program through which high school theater and journalism students are trained as theater critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in local newspapers.

FCPS Academies Are Holding Open Houses


Is your high schooler interested in architecture and construction, information technology, or health science? If so, attend an FCPS high school academy open house.

An academy is a center within a high school that offers advanced technical and specialized courses that can prepare students for postsecondary education and/or career fields. Students enrolling in academy elective courses will be provided with opportunities to participate in a variety of career experiences including shadowing, mentoring, or internships with local businesses. More than a dozen career fields can be explored through FCPS academies!

Once an Atom, Always an Atom


Last August, Sandra Benitez excitedly started her first day of school as a high school teacher. However, some of the usual anxieties were at bay because she was returning to a familiar environment. Four years after graduating from Annandale High School, Sandra returned to the school as a U.S. Government teacher for English learners. Read about Sandra’s journey from student to teacher.

Have you considered becoming a teacher? FCPS is seeking educators with strong student engagement skills and a passion for having a positive influence. 

Attend our job fair on Saturday, February 3, 9 a.m.-noon, at Lewis High School. Take advantage of networking and interviewing opportunities with representatives from various Fairfax County public schools. Employment offers may be extended during the fair. Register to attend.


đź“… Calendar Reminder: Quarter End, Early Release, and Student Holiday/Teacher Workday


Thursday, January 25, is the last day of the quarter and a two-hour early release for students. Also, schools are closed for students on Friday, January 26, for a teacher workday.
