Beyond the many information and services offered through FCPS Family Academy, we recognize the important role community support systems play in student success. We provide a selected list of resources and connections to local partners that offer valuable programs and services.

Seasonal Resources: Back to School 2024

Back to School

  • Immunizations Notice - 
    Starting Monday, September 30, students who have not provided proof of immunization will not be allowed to attend school.
    You can check your child’s immunization compliance by accessing ParentVUE. 
    Families of students with incomplete immunization records need to provide acceptable proof of immunization to their child's school as soon as possible. You can find the list of required immunizations on the General Registration Immunizations webpage.
  • English Classes for Adults
    English Empowerment Center
    With over 60 years of experience, the English Empowerment Center provides comprehensive English language and literacy instruction for adult learners. Classes provide the essential foundational skills that adult English language learners (ELLs) need to speak, understand, read, and write English effectively.

    • PEATC Presents: Understanding Special Education 
      Join a free virtual workshop series designed for parents and professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of special education in Virginia. For more information see flyer. (English/Spanish)

Health Resources

  • Mental health matters. Let's create spaces for healing and support.

    Available Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m. ET.

Food

  • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    A SNAP account is established for eligible households and automatic deposits are made into the account each month. To access the account, they will also receive an EBT Card, which will debit the account each time eligible food items are purchased. A secret Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required to use the card. Learn more about SNAP and how to apply with these helpful interactive learning modules.

    Kick-off Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating at the first annual ¿Qué Pasa? Festival of Herndon! This festival will feature a diverse array of activities, including live music and performances, authentic Latin/Hispanic cuisine, artisanal crafts, interactive workshops, and much more.
