Honors classes in middle school are open to all students who seek academic rigor. Fairfax County offers open enrollment in Honors social studies, English, science, and mathematics classes.
Classification and Compensation classifies the division’s jobs through a formal job description review and assists with systematically classifying or categorizing jobs and pay grades within an organization based on various factors such as the nature of the work, responsibilities, qualifications, and skills required.

Career and Technical Education Summer Academy (CTA) helps students build on their skills and explore career pathways. Students design their experience by choosing their classes. This camp is open to students currently in grades 6-11.

Education for Employment (EFE) is a course for high school students with disabilities that develops employability and job-seeking skills and empowers students to become self-advocates.
FCPS ACE offers Apprenticeship programs in electrical, HVAC-R, and plumbing. Our Trade & Industry programs feature a broad range of introductory classes for the homeowner, DIY-er, or anyone considering a career in the trades.
Both the IB Diploma Program and the AP Program offer students the opportunity to take college-level courses in high school. FCPS has an open enrollment policy for both programs and all students are encouraged to take AP/IB courses in their area(s) of academic strength. Students and parents are encouraged to check the website of the high school that they will attend to determine program and course offerings at their individual school.
The Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer includes the following: Office of Employee Relations, Office of Employee Services and Operations, Office of Labor Relations, and Office of Talent Acquisition and Management. The office reports to the Superintendent.
