The Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Adult and Community Education program (ACE) is the leading provider of flexible, affordable, outcome-oriented classes to promote learning at any stage in life. We offer more than 3,000 courses in a wide range of subjects that empower students of all ages and backgrounds to explore options for after high school graduation, gain valuable technical training, advance their careers with relevant skills, or enhance their lives with a range of personal interest classes. Online anytime classes are available in a multitude of subjects, ranging from enrichment to foreign language to career training and so much more! Classes are available as either fully self-paced or instructor guided.

The ACE Online Anytime program offers students:

Accessing the Class

Students will need a computer with speakers, microphone, and access to the internet. After registration students will receive a specialized link to the pre-recorded lectures online and access to complete online educational materials and testing (if applicable).  Lessons are released biweekly and there is no scheduled class time. Instructors and students will interact using an online class discussion board.

Class Length

Each class lists the estimated amount of time for the average person to complete; 3, 6, or 12 months. Students can spend as much time as needed to complete the self-paced classes. These classes are typically six weeks long with an additional two weeks to prepare for the final exam (if applicable).

Instructor-Guided Online Anytime Classes

If a flexible but more structured class is your preference, ACE offers instructor-guided classes. These classes have a defined start date but provide flexibility to fit your schedule.
