Centreville High Capital Project
Information about the Renovations
The scope of the Centreville High School renovation will bring the future building area to approximately 410,000 SF. The project was identified according to the Renovation Queue, approved in 2009. Centreville HS is ranked 51 of 63 schools in the queue. Planning/design was funded by the 2021 bond, with construction expected to be funded by the 2025 bond.
Sustainability – School design is currently pursuing an updated design which will drive the school’s Energy Use Intensity (EUI) from EUI-34.4 (orig. design) to EUI-17.6 through the implementation of solar/solar ready roofscapes, and many other lesser-known methods of reducing energy usage. Centreville High School will be the most energy-efficient high school in Fairfax County Public Schools and the USA. The average FCPS high school average EUI-53.8
