All students interested in applying to the junior class must submit (between April 1 and April 23, 2025) their high school transcript (through first semester 10th grade) and their PSAT or SAT scores. If approved, completed applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on May 16, 2025. TJHSST does not admit students for entry to the junior class at any other time during the school year.

• Students are not eligible to apply for the junior class if they have previously applied to TJHSST during the Freshman or Sophomore Rounds.
• The junior admissions process begins in early April and is completed in its entirety in June each year. The TJHSST Admissions Office administers all aspects of the junior admissions process. Selection is completed by a committee of faculty from TJHSST.
• Students may only apply to the Junior Round Class of 2027 if they have not applied previously for admissions into TJ.

Application

All students interested in applying to the junior class must submit a copy of their high school transcript through first semester of 10th grade and PSAT or SAT scores, between April 1 - 23, 2025, at 4:00 pm, for evaluation of eligibility before they can begin an application. Please include a cover letter providing the following information:

• Your Name
• Name of your current school
• Home telephone number
• Mailing address
• Contact information for your parent(s)/legal guardian (including phone numbers and email addresses)

Send all materials to the TJHSST Admissions Office. You may scan and e-mail your materials or you may FAX them to 571-423-3777, but you will not be able to begin an application at that time. If you are found to be eligible, you will be given instructions on how to complete an application.

Transcripts

All Junior Round applicants must submit a copy of their high school transcript that includes final 9th grade marks and first semester 10th grade marks for all high school enrolled courses at the time of application. In addition, all applicants must submit a transcript showing final marks for all high school credits earned prior to 9th grade, (if not included on the high school transcript.)

Testing Requirements

All applicants to the junior class of TJHSST must take one of the following PSAT or SAT: 

• PSAT 8/9
• PSAT 10
• PSAT NMSQT
• SAT 

Copies of your official PSAT or SAT score reports must be submitted along with your high school transcript directly to the TJHSST Admissions Office by April 23, 2025, before you can receive an application. Make sure that the test scores clearly show your name. In order to be competitive in the process, the test scores should be in the upper 90th percentile for both writing/reading and math components. 

We do not accept or consider ACT,  ASPIRE or any other standardized tests as a substitution for the PSAT or SAT. 

The PSAT is offered each year through local schools. Contact your current school's student services/guidance office for information about test date and registration for that testing. Make sure that you will receive an official score report (you will need to send a copy of the report you receive with your application). 

If you school did not offer the PSAT and you did not take it elsewhere, you must provide us with SAT scores. If you do not have a previous PSAT or SAT score, you will not be eligible to be considered for admission.

Coursework Requirements:

• All junior round applicants must submit (no sooner than April 1, 2025, and no later than April 23, 2025) a copy of your high school transcript, containing all courses taken prior to 9th grade for high school credit, along with your official PSAT/SAT scores (must be in the 90th percentile or above) before you are approved to begin an application. Applicants to the junior class must have completed the following graduation credits by the end of the 2024-2025 academic year:

• English – 2 credit
• Mathematics - 3 Credits (Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2)
• Biology – 1 credit
• Chemistry - 1 credit
• Health/PE – 2 credit
• World Languages – 1 credit (2 recommended)
• World History/Geography 2 - 1 credit
• Elective – 1 credit (Technology preferred)

If your school does not offer the exact courses listed above, you must submit with your application documentation from your prior school (such as copies of the curriculum, course syllabus, etc.) that describes in detail each course and the material covered.

If you have taken Algebra 2, but not Algebra 2/Trigonometry, you may apply to TJHSST. If admitted, you will be placed in the appropriate math course to address the Trigonometry component.

Class of 2027 Application Information

• All students interested in applying to the junior (11th grade) class must first submit their high school transcript through first semester of 10th grade and official PSAT/SAT scores (with scores in the upper 90th percentile for each category) to the TJHSST Admissions Office for evaluation of eligibility before you can begin the application process. The window to submit transcripts is April 1 - 23, 2025. The Admissions Office will notify you as to whether or not you are eligible to apply.  
• If approved, applicants to the junior class at TJHSST must complete the entire junior application in order to be considered for admission.  Online applications are available (following transcript approval) beginning April 1, 2025. Use the link below to access the TJ Admissions online portal. 

Students are not eligible to apply for the junior class if they have previously applied to TJHSST during the Freshman or Sophomore Rounds.

• May 16, 2025 – Application deadline by 4:00 PM*
• Week of June 2, 2025 – Junior round interviews
• June 30, 2025 – Final Admissions Decisions Posted (No later than)

*The application deadline for junior round admissions (TJHSST CLASS OF 2027) is May 16, 2025, by 4:00 pm. No late applications will be accepted for any reason.
