Crossfield Elementary Capital Project
Information about the Renovations and Additions
The Crossfield Elementary project was identified according to the Renovation Queue, approved in 2009. Crossfield ES is ranked 42 of 63 schools in the queue. Planning and design for this project was funded by the 2019 bond. Construction was funded with the 2021 bond. The completed project will provide modern amenities and will bring the future building area to approximately 100,815 square feet. Additions include a library and a main office.

Construction Information
- New stairs and switchback to trailers.
- New addition with additional classrooms, work rooms, pull out spaces.
- New classrooms in area B.
- New and expanded library.
- New and expanded administrative area.
- New kitchen and kitchen equipment.
- New finishes in cafeteria.
- New elevator.
- New windows and improved daylighting in area B turned over spaces.
- New asphalt paving.
- New pervious pavers for parking, improving storm water management practices.
- Demolition: We have begun the demolition of area A interior spaces in the first and second-floor classrooms.
- Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Updates: Ongoing updates to the building’s first and second-floor area B classrooms. New electric, domestic water, and sanitary lines, all of which are now installed and connected.
- New roof: Ongoing total replacement.
- Sustainability Improvements: The renovation will be a more sustainable building with all LED lighting and advanced lighting controls.
- HVAC System: A new, more efficient HVAC system with updated controls will enhance comfort and energy efficiency.
- Technology Upgrades: We are incorporating updated technology to support modern learning environments.
- Life Safety Upgrades: New fire alarm system, new security system, fire sprinkler system, and new generator.
- Water Conservation: Automatic low-flow sinks, toilets, and urinals will be installed to promote water conservation.
- Daylighting: New windows and improved natural lighting in classrooms and gymnasium.
- Kitchen and Expanded cafeteria: All new kitchen equipment and expanded cafeteria.
- Relocated and Improved: SACC, Library, music, and art.
- Various site improvements:
- New pre-K playground
- New school-age playground
- New outdoor basketball courts
- Improved kiss and ride circulation
- Additional parking
