Student Leadership
Learn about the School Board's student leadership opportunities
The Fairfax County School Board believes in empowering and investing in the next generation of leaders. When our schools and communities develop leadership skills in our students we foster a sense of responsibility, accountability, and engagement that will shape the future generation. Effective leadership development empowers students to take on roles that enhance school culture such as serving on committees, representing their peers, or spearheading initiatives. These experiences teach valuable skills such as problem-solving, communication, and teamwork -- which are crucial in both academic and professional arenas. In the long term, leadership skills cultivated in school translate into a more engaged and responsible citizenry.
The School Board offers two flagship student leadership opportunities:
- Student Representative to the School Board
- Student Leadership Development Program
